 314.I Remember Paris
НТВ: Прощай Париж

Scene 1: Section One, Van Access. A hostage is brought in and Michael
follows, meeting up with Operations.

Operations: How did it go?
Michael: There were four. We let one live.
Operations: Was that on the profile?
Michael: No. We found an assembly tracker on him. He may be on a higher
tier than we expected.
Operations: And the relay site?
Michael: We collected everything relevant, then took it out.
Operations: Good. Work this guy up – let's find out who he is.

Scene 2: Section One, White Room. Boris, the hostage, is put into the
chair and restrained. He tries to get free; we see blood on his hand.
Madeline enters.

Madeline: Mr. Tyco. You were detained during a routine sweep of a Glass
Curtain relay site.
Boris: Detained?
Madeline: Under normal circumstances, you would have been eliminated
along with the three others we found there. But, we detected the electronic
signature of a signal tracker. What were you doing with it?
Boris: I'm not sure what you're talking about. Could you describe it?
Madeline: (knows he's stalling) If you'd like, you can set the tone of this
interrogation. I can assure you, however, that our way is more direct and
less painful.
Boris: I see your point. I suppose you're probably right. But…if I tell you
about this tracker, are you gonna kill me?
Madeline: Most likely. Unless there's anything else. But it will happen
quickly and you won't feel anything.
Boris: That's good. Because I'm not really fond of pain.

Scene 3: Section One, Comm Center. Birkoff and Walter are standing
there working, Michael arrives.

Michael: What do you have?
Birkoff: I ran the guy's prints and scan. I.D.'d him on the first pass. Boris
Tyco. Glass Curtain recruited him last year. He was working on an oil
platform in the Caspian Sea.
Michael: Last year?
Walter: Yeah. That's the anomaly. How does a member of the freshman
class get one of these? (he shows Michael the tracker) A signal tracker.
Birkoff: We've only found these on third tier or higher…which is not Boris.
Michael: Where was he before the Caspian Sea?
Birkoff: He was non-affiliated.
Michael: Keep looking.

Scene 4: Section One, Hallway. Boris is hiding. He pops his joints back
to normal on his hand…ewwwwww. He sees a female operative approach
and grabs her, breaking her neck. He uses her handprint to open the
security door.

Scene 5: Section One, Comm Center. Operations goes up to Birkoff,
who is working with a pretty young operative.

Operations: What did Madeline find out about Tyco?
Birkoff: I don't know. She's still in with him.
Operations: She is?
(He goes over and hits keys on a monitor to see the surveillance of the
White Room. Madeline is lying on the floor unconscious)
Operations: (freaks) Go to CNT. Now! (He takes off running)
Birkoff: (into the intercom) Close all level access points. We have a grade
two breach. (turns to the operative beside him) Antonia, cycle down all
local processes. Kill anything that's not vulnerable. (into another intercom)
Get Medical to Containment, now. Madeline's down.

Scene 6: Section One, Systems. Michael and Nikita hear the alarm.

Nikita: What's two pulses?
Michael: Breach. There's a hostile loose.
Nikita: What's the contingency?
Michael: Should be on your panel.
(They look and then go off in opposite directions. We see Tyco, working
on something deep inside Section. He gets up and hurries down another
hallway)

Scene 7: Section One, Hallway. Operations hurries down the hallway,
shoving an operative aside as he goes. Finally he reaches the White
Room to see two operatives crouching by Madeline, who has regained
consciousness.

Medical Op: How's your breathing?
(Operations crouches down, extends a hand to her but the two ops are
already helping her to her feet)
Madeline: I'm fine, I'm fine.
Operations: (to the operatives) Get her up to Medical, now!
Madeline: It's not necessary. We've got to find Tyco.

Scene 8: Section One, Hallway. Bodies everywhere. Boris is messing
with something on the wall.

Scene 9: Section One, Comm Center. Birkoff and Antonia, working.

Antonia: Do you have the lock on the encryption class?
Birkoff: No. Why?
Antonia: I can't get at it. Someone synchronized it.
Birkoff: (hits some keys) He's rewired I-O, he's going to transmit. Reroute
the bit stream! Throw a security exception! Do it fast. Who's in G4? Is
anyone up there?
Michael: (voice) I am. (Michael is doing the Mikey strut down the hall,
looking mighty fine, I might add)
Birkoff: Michael, he's up there somewhere.
Michael: I know. (Michael is up in the hallway)
Birkoff: All right, I'll send in a team.
Michael: No. Seal us off.
Birkoff: Are you sure? They can be there in twenty seconds.
Michael: Now, before he moves.
(A security wall comes down; Michael is trapped with Tyco, who is in a
slightly different area still wiring things)
(Back in Comm, Operations and Madeline stand behind Birkoff watching
the monitors.)
Operations: Why can't you pinpoint the sector?
Birkoff: He's taken out a bank of monitors. I'm tracking him through his
activities. He's running a sequence of patches.
Operations: For what?
Birkoff: I-O.
Madeline: He's trying to transmit?
Operations: Shut down the system!
Birkoff: I can't. We're running Vibar off it.
Operations: Damn it!
(Meanwhile, Michael finds Tyco and kills him with his bare hands – way
cool scene! - and grabs his PDA and unplugs it. Then he Mikey )

Scene 10: Glass Curtain Headquarters. Guess what, boys and girls, we're
not done with the resurrections yet. Errol Sparks is alive and well. Now
for the million dollar question - is Simone? But I digress…back to the
transcript…

Sparks: Are you getting this, Siobhan?
Siobhan: Yes.
Sparks: How does it look?
Siobhan: Complete. (Hey! It says K3 repeatedly on Siobhan's computer!
Hey, Chris, did you put that in for your head hussy?)
Sparks: Well done, Boris, wherever you are. Probably dead by now.
(Siobhan hands him a computer module) Section One. Chapter and verse.
>From their directory to the list of sub-contractors. Every operation, past
and present. The whole enchilada.
Siobhan: They embedded a code.
Sparks: What?
Siobhan: All the data's there but we won't be able to read it until we
decrypt.
Sparks: How long?
Siobhan: I don't know yet. Maybe two, three days.
Sparks: Days!
Siobhan: There's a lot of stuff here. The good news is I think I've got one
thing off the header that's non-encrypted. (types) Wait. Yeah, I've got it.
Sparks: What is it?
Siobhan: Coordinates.
Sparks: (looking at the monitor) The location of Section One.

Scene 11: Section One, Hallway. Operations and Madeline meet up.

Operations: Tyco's dead.
Madeline: The depth of the breach?
Operations: We don't know everything yet, but we do know he tapped into
Comm.
Madeline: This was a well choreographed plan.
Operations: Even his capture must have been expected. Whoever's behind
this has substantial resources.
Madeline: I'll check the initial intel. See who fed us.
Operations: Birkoff's already on it. We're going to brief in Systems in ten
minutes.
Madeline: This isn't good, is it?
Operations: No.

Scene 12: Section One - Main area. Michael and Nikita meet up.

Nikita: Hey. What's going on?
Michael: I don't know yet.
Nikita: Tech's all over six and seven. I've never seen it like this before.
Michael: He may have transmitted before I got to him.
Nikita: The directory?
Michael: Possibly, but it's not the only thing that can hurt us.
Nikita: What can I do?
Michael: Stay in.

Scene 13: Section One, Madeline's Office. Operations, Madeline,
Michael. Madeline has the PDA Michael took from Boris.

Madeline: What about the body of the transmission?
Michael: Birkoff encoded it.
Madeline: Will they break the code?
Michael: Yes.
Madeline: How soon?
Michael: With the fastest processing available? Birkoff estimates 72 hours.
Operations: (to Madeline) So, if we do retrieve in time we can reprogram
and feel safe on that count?
Madeline: Yes.
(Birkoff enters)
Operations: I understand we have a three day window.
Birkoff: Yes and no.
Operations: What does that mean?
Birkoff: A portion of the data was not encoded.
Madeline: What is it, Birkoff?
Birkoff: They know where we are.
Operations: Are you sure?
Birkoff: Yes.
Operations: You understand the implication of this, so I will ask you once
again - are you sure?
Birkoff: Sir. I've checked it nine different ways. The data's waiting for you
down in Comm.
Operations: How much time do we have?
Birkoff: Two hours.
Operations: Michael, work with Birkoff. Pull off a destination on the
transmission. You will head the teams. Madeline, once you're out and safe,
you'll oversee Michael. Birkoff, set a clock for a hundred and twenty
minutes.
Madeline: What about you?
Operations: I have to work this out with George. Prepare evacuation.

Scene 14: Section One, Main area. Everybody pretty much running
every which way. Walter is handing out weaponry at warp speed. Nikita
goes up to him.

Walter: Come on, let's hurry it up you guys!
Nikita: Walter, you need more help?
Walter: Put those panels in that box there, in the case - make sure they're
updated. (looks at an operative who's signing out for his stuff) Don't waste
time signing it out, just take it and run.
Nikita: So, what's going to happen?
Walter: Huh?
Nikita: What's going to happen?
Walter: I don't know.
(Operations voice comes over the loudspeaker)
Operations: Can I have everyone's attention? Please stop what you're doing.
Each of you is to go to your primary anchor points. These locations should
be secure for seventy-one hours. We'll communicate on the alternate net
with you. Those of you who are active will receive assignments on your
panels. You have forty-nine minutes left to evacuate. Good luck.
(Operatives are seen rushing around packing things, running up and
down stairways…500 feet of stairways, ouch, that'd be worse than the
Stairmaster)

Scene 15: Section One, Hallway. Birkoff runs into Operations.

Birkoff: Sir, I was just on my way to come see you.
Operations: What is it?
Birkoff: You were right. Tyco was fed to us intentionally.
Operations: By whom?
Birkoff: Freddy Allen.
Operations: Who is that?
Birkoff: An arms dealer out of Norway that we use periodically.
Operations: Does he have the resources to do this on his own?
Birkoff: No. No. He was definitely contracted.
Operations: How soon can we get him?
Birkoff: He fell off our radar a couple days ago. We're working on it.
Operations: How much of Comm have you been able to salvage?
Birkoff: Only 25 percent.
Operations: So basically, we're going to be without resources. (Birkoff
nods) OK. All right. Pack it up and get out of here.

Scene 16: Section One - Main area. Section is empty. Operations takes
a last look around. Michael enters.

Operations: Is everyone out?
Michael: Yes.
Operations: How much time?
Michael: Three minutes.
Operations: Let's go.
(They walk off and get into the elevator together. We see shots of the
Section, empty, waiting to be blown up…am I the only one who thought
the music in this sequence reminded me of the music from the Titanic
movie? LOL just curious)
Operations: You've been for here how many years, Michael? Seven?
Michael: Nine.
Operations: I came here 24 years ago.
(He and Michael exit the elevator and a door slams shut behind them.
Section blows up. Operations and Michael walk down the sidewalk
together. We see the Eiffel Tower - Section One was in Paris.)

Scene 17: Nikita's Apartment. There's a knock on the door and Nikita
answers it to find Mick.

Mick: Oh, Oh, I'm so glad you're home.
Nikita: Hey, Mick, come in.
Mick: I could really use a huge favor. (he walks in) I've got this potential
fresh kill coming up this afternoon. Only, I haven't closed on her, yet. I
could use an assist. (he picks up a sculpture) Hello, that's new, I love it.
Nikita: Put that down, please. So what is it you need?
Mick: I told you – I've got this bird coming over…see my etchings, you
know. Now. It will greatly add to the impression if you could be there
when she arrives. You're the model.
(Nikita glares at him, picks up the phone)
Nikita: Hello.
Michael: (on phone) Josephine.
Nikita: Yeah. I'm here.
Michael: Location Beta. Protocol Six.
Nikita: We're picking up a hostile? (Cathy in: Go Nikita, way to screw up
the entire purpose of "code language" on the phone)
Michael: Yes. Go.
Nikita: Okay. (She hangs up the phone)
Mick: So what do you think? Double date? What's wrong? (Cathy in again:
How does Mick, being with Section One, not know what's going on?
Helllloooooo?)
Nikita: I can't talk about it right now, Mick but if I were you I'd go home,
I'd lie low and you're going to have to cancel your date.
Mick: What do you mean lie low?
Nikita: You should disappear…until you hear from me.
Mick: Where am I going to go?
Nikita: I'm sure you'll find somewhere. I gotta go. Snap. (They both leave)

Scene 18: Glass Curtain Hideout Siobhan is typing away.

Sparks: How's it going?
Siobhan: My parser is eating away at their key. This is going to work, we're
going to crack this thing. (she's chewing on a candy bar)
Sparks: Just as long as we don't run out of candy bars. Shall I get Tommy
to go on another run?
Siobhan: (nods) Yeah, more patties. (Cathy in: ROTFLMAO! For anybody
who doesn't know, the LFN creative team is addicted to Peppermint Patties,
and they knew we'd get a major kick out of this inclusion)
Sparks: Yum yum. (calls) More patties!
Siobhan: What happened to the second layer of data?
Sparks: Very useful. Names and addresses of all their operatives in Central
Europe.
Siobhan: That's what that was? I didn't read it.
Sparks: (laughs) You don't even care what we do in here, do you Siobhan?
God help us if the other side has more candy. (He picks up a peppermint
patty, flips it in the air, and walks off)

Scene 19: Temporary Section One. Operations enters; Birkoff, Madeline
and Walter are all already there.

Operations: Where are we on everything?
Madeline: Michael went to pick up Nikita. They're bringing in a hostile.
Operations: (to Walter) What's our status?
Walter: 42 operatives are still unaccounted for. 17 are confirmed dead.
Operations: Not so bad.
(Computer buzzes)
Operations: They're here. Let them in. (He hits a button and you hear a
door swishing open.) At the rate they're taking apart our files, they should
be getting close to the Far East.
Madeline: I've already informed Kyoto. They'll handle it.
(Michael and Nikita enter with their hostage)
Michael: Take him to containment.
Operations: I want him broken within the an hour. Do we have anything
you can use?
Madeline: A few chemicals, not much.
Operations: Use whatever's available. Just don't kill him until he talks.
(Madeline gets up and leaves)
Nikita: I winged the driver before he got away. I was able to get some blood
samples from the ground. (She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a bag
with some bloody tissues inside)
Operations: (snarky) Look around, if you find a lab, let me know.
(Operations stalks off)
Nikita: Is that really necessary?
Walter: He's losing everything he really cares for.
Nikita: (to Michael) What do we do?
Michael: I have to run some satellite data. You can help.
(Michael and Nikita leave)
Birkoff: Hey Walter…
Walter: Yeah, Birkoff?
Birkoff: What's going to happen?
Walter: What do you mean? We're going to get all the bad guys and we'll
all live happily ever after.
Birkoff: Where?
Walter: Hell if I know. This is my first incineration.
Birkoff: Have there been others?
Walter: You never know what to believe.
Birkoff: I like Paris.
Walter: You'll visit.

Scene 20: Hallway at Temporary Section. Operations walks with Madeline.

Madeline: The prisoner broke. We may have a location on Freddy Allen.
Operations: Where?
Madeline: Montreal. He's using an alias.
Operations: Good.
Madeline: Who should I send?
Operations: I'll take it.
Madeline: Why would you do that? You're needed here.
Operations: Comm isn't fully operational. I need to control this one.
Madeline: You're not expendable.
Operations: If we don't find Freddy Allen soon, we'll all be expendable.

Scene 21: Temporary Section One, Main area. (Operations comes back
and goes up to Nikita)

Operations: Nikita. Come with me.
Nikita: Where are we going?
Operations: (gives her a gun; he has one also) To find Freddy Allen.
Nikita: I don't understand.
Operations: As of now, everyone's an operative.
(Michael watches them both leave)

Scene 22: Mission. Nikita and Operations walk down the street.

Operations: What other names does Allen use? Do we have it?
Nikita: For this cover, he's using Pierre Brogan.
Operations: And he's part of a syndicate that owns the gallery?
Nikita: Limited partner, and he officially withdrew in April. You know, it's
possible he's just an art lover and the people associated with the gallery are
clean.
Operations: (annoyed) No one is clean. I've tolerated enough of your soft
pedaling over the years - but not today. We have zero margin for error. I'll
kill ten innocents to get to Allen. And you'll do the same. (he pauses) Put
primary teams on standby.
Nikita: (into comm set) Frankel, stand by, we're going in. (Cathy in:
Frankel? Are we recruiting Petrosian's comrades now or did we just run
out of names? LOL)
(She enters the gallery, Operations waits outside)

Scene 23: Art Gallery. Nikita goes up to the receptionist, Ellen.

Ellen: (into phone) No, I spoke to Mario this morning. Well, it's on its way,
it should be in by Monday. Fine. (she hangs up, looks at Nikita) Sorry, we
don't take solicitation.
Nikita: I represent David Florimbi.
Ellen: Since when?
Nikita: Since September when he left Adam's agency. So I'm looking for a
new place to hang some of his new pieces.
Ellen: I gave up on David a long time ago. I'm surprised I didn't hear about
the split.
Nikita: Well, it wasn't exactly announced.
(Flash to Operations, on the street listening to their conversation)
Ellen: Uh, look, I don't need to see his stuff. I'm interested, is David in
town?
Nikita: No, he's not, but he did want me to discuss some terms directly
with Pierre.
Ellen: Strange. Pierre doesn't really work with the gallery, as such.
Mr. Matteo is the man you should speak to. He's on with a client overseas
right now, but I'm sure he'd want to talk to you.
Nikita: I'd really like to discuss this directly with Pierre. Do you have a
contact number on him?
Ellen: Um, no, we don't.
(Operations enters the gallery and walks up to a woman who is browsing.
He opens his coat to reveal his gun.)
Operations: Don't ask any questions. Just leave the gallery, right now.
(She does)
Nikita: So Mr. Matteo is upstairs, then?
Ellen: (sees Operations coming toward her with a gun) Excuse me, sir?
What are you doing?
Operations: Where's Pierre Brogan? Where is he?
Ellen: I don't know.
Operations: Who's here?
Ellen: Uh, Mr. Matteo.
Operations: Where is he?
Nikita: He's upstairs.
Operations: (to Nikita) Bring her.
Nikita: If I were you, I'd cooperate with him. Give him all the information,
you'll be fine. I promise you no harm will come to you if you cooperate.
Ellen: What are you going to do to me?

Scene 24: Art Gallery - Upstairs Office. Matteo is talking on the phone
in Italian.

Operations: Hang up.
Matteo: Who the hell are you? (Operations points a gun at him) What's
going on? We don't have money here.
(Operations pistolwhips him across the face as Nikita comes in and
shoves Ellen to the couch. Ellen screams)
Operations: Now listen carefully. You are going to tell me where Pierre
Brogan is or I'm going to kill you and your assistant. Right here.
Matteo: I don't know where he is.
Operations: (to Nikita) Check his records. (Nikita goes to the computer
and does so)
Nikita: There's nothing here. Wait. There's two sets of books.
Matteo: That has nothing to do with Brogan.
Ellen: I don't know anything about this!
Matteo: The gallery was going broke, we had to do some business on the
side to keep things going.
Operations: You mean Brogan did it.
Matteo: But I didn't know what it was. He floated us some cash and kept
us open.
Operations: Who else?
Matteo: I don't know any of the players, I swear.
Operations: Where is he?
Matteo: I don't know.
(Operations points the gun at Ellen, who freaks)
Operations: (to Matteo) Tell me.
Matteo: I don't know.
Ellen: No!
Operations: Tell me.
Matteo: I don't know!
(Nikita steps in front of Ellen)
Operations: Get out of my way, Nikita.
Nikita: He's telling the truth.
Operations: What did I say on the street? No one is clean.
Nikita: Killing her is not going to make him talk.
Operations: We'll find out.
(Matteo, seeing them distracted, pulls a gun from his desk but Nikita
shoots him before he can kill Operations)
Nikita: Now there's no reason to kill her.
Operations: She's seen us.
Nikita: She does not know Brogan. Look at yourself. You talk about all the
innocent people we protect. You've got one sitting right in front of you and
you're going to kill her.
Operations: (pulls back his gun but not really admitting he's wrong) We
have less than sixteen hours. (he stalks out)
Nikita: (into comm set) Primary team – stand down. There's nothing here.

Scene 25: Temporary Section. Operations and Nikita return.

Operations: Who's reported in?
Madeline: Everyone. We've come up empty.
Operations: How is that possible?
Birkoff: Somehow Freddy Allen segregated himself from all of our sources.
Michael: He could be dead.
Operations: I hope not. Right now he's our only link to whoever is
responsible for this. (to Birkoff) What about the NSA sheets?
Birkoff: Too many names. Nothing I can work with given the time restraint.
That's why we need Allen.
Nikita: Did you get the bloodwork back?
Walter: Yeah. There were no matches.
Operations: What bloodwork?
Nikita: I wanted to follow up on the driver I wounded yesterday.
Walter: I had a field kit. Birkoff uploaded the data to the CIA.
Operations: Why were you wasting your time with that?
Nikita: It only took two minutes. There was nothing to lose, only something
to gain.
Operations: You're not here to think, you're not here to plan strategy - you're
here to do whatever I tell you to do. The Section runs simply: the people
who are trained to think, think. The people who are trained to fight, fight.
Why am I always having to remind you where you stand?
(Nikita's phone rings and she answers)
Nikita: Yeah.
Mick: Dollface! There you are! (Flash to Mick, sitting in a hot tub with two
bimbos) I got your message, you sounded a bit frazzled.
Nikita: Mick, I can't talk right now.
Mick: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa…you asked me to find somebody, I found
him.
Nikita: What do you mean?
Mick: Freddy Allen. The laddie himself. I got a lock on him. (turns to the
bimbo next to him) I'm gonna make you a star. You know that. I'm gonna
make you both stars.
Nikita: (hangs up and talks to Operations) I got him.
Operations: Good. For you. (menacingly)

Scene 26: Glass Curtain Hideout

Siobhan: The class methods rolled over.
Sparks: Indeed, that is good news. (goes over and lies down) What's it
mean?
Siobhan: We're six hours away.
Sparks: Have you contacted the cleaning crews?
Siobhan: Yeah. They're ready to roll it up. Once we have the key codes to
their satellite com, we'll be able to use their own weapons systems against
them.
Sparks: Good. Six hours, what to do?

Scene 27: Airstrip, a plane lands. Mick and Michael sit in a truck
watching it.

Mick: Well, there he is.
Michael: Are you sure?
Mick: Of course I'm sure. As soon as I heard Section was in trouble, I
spared no expense. I used only quality contacts, Michael.
Michael: Who's he traveling with?
Mick: His own security.
Michael: How many?
Mick: Four or six shooters, two monitoring comm.
Michael: (into comm set) Half a dozen confirmed - prepare for twice that.
(flash back to Temporary Section)
Operations: As soon as the plane clears the first building, close off all access
to the tarmac - then send in tactical.
(flash back to Airstrip)
Michael: Have you ever met this guy?
Mick: Yeah sure, you know? Me, I know everybody. Freddy and I go back
to club days in Picadilly.
Michael: Stay close. You'll I.D. him for us. (Mick is sorry he bragged!)
(the plane stops, a car pulls up. A bunch of men exit the plane)
Michael: You see him?
Mick: Hold on, hold on, no – yeah, yeah - wait there he is. Beige topcoat.
(Freddy and his henchmen get into the limo)
Michael: (into comm set) Teams two and three, secure the limo. He's on
the back right, against a window. Everyone else, contain the jet.
(The car starts to move and is hit by a missile in front; the hood blows up)
Mick: Bloody Hell!
Michael: Go.
(The passengers jump out and Freddy is captured after a shooting match.
Operatives lash him to the grille of the truck Michael and Mick are in.
Michael looks inscrutable; Mick looks like he's going to puke or pass out
from shock…LOL!)
(An operative attaches some kind of device to Freddy's mouth)
Freddy: Who are you people?
Michael: You hired Boris Tyco to do a job. On behalf of who?
(Freddy doesn't answer and gets an electrical shock)
Freddy: Errol Sparks.
Michael: Where is he?
(Cathy in: HUH? And shouldn't Michael's next response be "Where the
hell is my wife?)

Scene 28: Glass Curtain Hideout - Sparks is on the phone.

Sparks: We're just minutes away. Yeah. I can let you have that. And I'll tell
you who has hostage value. You're going to have to prioritize, we're going
to have an embarrassment of riches here.
(The computer equipment flickers)
Sparks: (to Siobhan) What was that?
Siobhan: I don't know.
Sparks: Did we lose anything?
Siobhan: No, we're okay.
Sparks: (into phone again) Nothing, everything's all right. So look, all I
need from you is the money and the assurance that the addresses that I
sent to you are the first ones you wipe out - that's right, I'm just another
disgruntled postal worker.
(There's a blackout)
Sparks: What's going on???
(Operatives enter the room and gun down everybody. Again, HELLO,
wouldn't Michael want to question Sparks about Simone first???)

Scene 29: Temporary Section. Nikita and Walter packing their
things up.

Nikita: Walter? I thought Sparks died two years ago when we took over the
Marrakesh substation?
Walter: Yeah, we all did. But he escaped. I'll see ya later, sugar.
(He walks off)
(Operations comes up to Nikita)
Operations: So we live to fight another day.
Nikita: Where?
Operations: Not here. Oversight will select a location.
Nikita: Where are we going to go until it's ready?
Operations: They're ready now.
Nikita: Now?
Operations: Four compounds have already been built, they're starting a fifth
in the fall. (pause) Thank you.
Nikita: For what?
Operations: You're competent and you keep your wits about you under fire.
I tend towards impatience. It doesn't always work as well in the field.
Nikita: Sometimes I do things differently than what you would like - but I've
set boundaries for myself. If I was to work outside those boundaries, I
couldn't live with myself.
Operations: I appreciate that, Nikita. But it's not about you and your
boundaries…it's not even about me and my impatience.
Nikita: I know. It's about the Section, right?
Operations: I know most of the operatives think of what they do here as
nothing more than indentured servitude – it's a way to stay alive. If I could
just impart the way I feel about this place… (he trails off and they share a
moment of silence, then he walks off)

Scene 30: New Section One, Main area

Birkoff: This – this is my back up - put it in Systems for now. (he walks
over to Walter) Hey Walter! Do we have any three gauge fiber optic cable?
Walter: I saw some about an hour ago, I'll take a look.
Birkoff: What do you think of this place?
Walter: Um, I don't like the way it smells.
Birkoff: Why? What does it smell like?
Walter: New. I don't like anything new. In fact, I don't like change.
Birkoff: They built you a new system organizer.
Walter: What do you mean? (He turns and looks behind him, seeing a new
wall unit) Wow. Look at that. Now that I do like. All right!
(Birkoff takes his cable, walks away and we see Operations and Madeline
walking and talking)
Madeline: The system's been restored, except for two missions in Africa
which we can handle manually until we're 100%.
Operations: Did Harrison receive the requisition?
Madeline: Yes. His units should arrive in Dover by morning.
Operations: Don't leak that one to committee. I want to see how it plays
out first.
Madeline: Done.

Scene 31: Nikita's Apartment. Nikita and Michael having dinner.

Michael: It's been a strange week.
Nikita: That's one way to put it. I don't know what was more unusual:
Operations blowing up Section or you coming for dinner again.
Michael: I didn't choose to stay away.
Nikita: But you did. So what's changed?
Michael: Maybe enough time has passed.
Nikita: Maybe too much time has passed, Michael.
Michael: I hope not. (he refills her wine glass)
Nikita: Thank you. (pause) So why are you here now?
Michael: I missed you.
