Tease: Restaurant
Nikita is eating a meal alone. She watches a man also eating alone until another
man joins him. They are served and when the second man picks up the knife she reacts.
She sees him repeatedly stabbing the first man over and over again. Nikita rushes over
to stop him and grabs the knife out of his hand but then we see that the first man is fine.
There is no blood on him at all. She looks down to her hands and sees them covered in blood.
Man1: What the hell's the matter with you lady?
A waiter comes up to her..
Waiter: Ma'am is there something…
She slugs him one and then Nikita looks down at her hands and the blood is gone
from them.
Scene 2 - Daytime - Outside
We see a run-down looking building with barbed wire on the fencing. We
see old looking taps, rusted and dripping water. Nikita is laying strapped
onto a bed in a room of empty beds. It seems to be some kind of hospital.
She is looking around at the peeling paint on the walls and ceilings.
Scene 3- Section - Briefing
Ops: Crystal French is an arms dealer with no ideological ties. (pic of her comes
up on the screen) She sells to the highest bidder. The latest weapon is an
anthrax-based toxin called Drakium A.S. The subject has only been infected for
3 hours (we see a hologram of a very decomposed body)
One vial of Drakium A.S. could decimate New York in one week. Our intel indicates
that the Freedom League has resurfaced and has made arrangements to purchase
the toxin from our target.
Michael: what's our window?
Quinn: Unknown but limited. Crystal French operates under a heavy veil of security.
She's never surfaced long enough to tag. Our field operatives have been unable to
locate her.
Ops: This is David French (new hologram picture comes up)
Jason: I read about that guy. He went loony tunes or somethin', over an
accident in some kind of chemical plant.
Ops: Yes. He had a complete psychotic break. Currently he's in a mental institution
in Zurich and he may be our only link to finding his mother. Twenty-four hours ago
Nikita was given a psychosis inducing drug. She was admitted to the Zurich facility
(flash to where we see Nikita strapped to the bed) two hours later. We have to
be able to move at a moment's notice once we obtain the information.
Scene 4 - Section - Com area
We also keep switching back and forth between Section and the hospital.
Michael: Nikita's status?
Jason: We're trying to initiate contact. There's no response.
Michael: Tell her to take the anti-psychotic. She knows where it is.
Jason: Nikita? (we see her on the bed and then the door opens up… we see
Jason walking up to her)
Nikita: What are you doing here? What are you doing here? (we then see Jason
pulling a gun and pointing it at her) NO! (we then see that it isn't actually
Jason but the doctor who is checking her out)
Doc: She's coming out of it. Give me the benitol.
Jason: Nikita. The halomine. Take the halomine. It will counteract the psychotic
we gave you.
Nikita mumbles something and then we see the doctor preparing a syringe for
her which he then injects into her. She is looking around.
Doc: Can you tell us your name?
Nikita: Nikita
Doc: Nikita. Can you remember how you got here?
Jason: Maybe she'll respond to your voice (as he hands the link to Michael)
Michael: Nikita. It's Michael. (the name echoes as she hears it)
Nikita: Michael?
Doc: Michael? You said the name Michael. Is he a friend?
Nikita: Yeah ( nodding)
Michael: The pill is in the makeup kit.
Nikita: voices…
Doc: We'll help you stop the voices.
Michael: Hidden under the compact.
Nikita: Makeup, I get…
Doc:(looking to nurse) Why not. Every young woman needs her makeup.
(he unstraps her) I'm going to go away now for a while Nikita but I'll be back.
(Nurse takes compact from Nikita's purse) We're going to try and find out who you are.
Scene 5 - Nikita's room at the hospital and back and forth to Section.
Nikita grabs the compact off the stand and then she gets up and goes out
into the hallway. We see the shabbiness of it and the swinging lamps.
There is a chair that she goes to and then sits down. She opens the compact
and then looks at herself, then opens it up and takes one of the pills.
Michael: Nikita?
Nikita: Michael?
Michael: did you take the pill?
Nikita: Michael? (she gets up and looks around and then into some doors as if
she is looking for him not realizing where the voice is coming from)
Where are you?
Michael: You have to take the pill and contact the target.
Nikita: Target? Target?
Michael: David French.
We then see the corridors again but this time there are lots of people.
Nikita: STOP! (yelling)
Michael: The mission Nikita. Remember the mission.
Nurse: Come on. We'll get you all cleaned up.
Nikita: I’m sorry. (almost like she is cowering)
The nurse leads her through the hallways. There are a lot of patients around.
There is a man at a water fountain washing his hands (it's David)
She looks around some more and she sees an old bearded man in a window.
The nurse is leading her back to her room where Nikita sits on the bed.
Nurse: If you need anything, just shout. Everybody else does. (she leaves and closes
the door)
Nikita: Michael. Found David French.
Michael: We're on an accelerated clock. You know what you have to do.
Scene 6 - Hospital Bathroom
David is there washing his hands at the sink when he hears the door open.
He looks up to see it's Nikita.
Nikita: I just spoke to your mother David.
David: My mother? No. Why? What did you tell her?
Nikita: I saw what you did. I haven't said anything yet. (she leans closer) I will.
David: Don't tell my mother. Please don't tell her.
Nikita: She already knows. (she turns to leave and opens the door and then
turns back) She knows.(she leaves)
David: Mommy knows? HA HA HA
We see the nurse who observes Nikita leaving David in the bathroom and
she hears David yelling No, No. We then see Nikita back in her room.
Nikita: I made first contact.
Jason: Time to take the 2nd pill.
Nikita opens the drawer and takes out the compact but when she opens it up
the last pill is gone. We then see that the Doctor and some orderlies have come
into the room.
Doc: I understand you've been keeping something from us Nikita.
Scene 7 - Hospital/Section
Jason: Nikita? (pause) Nikita? You have to move. Did you take the last dose?
(Nikita is just lying there. Madeline is with Jason and he turns to her) She
can't get the last dose.
Maddy: Nikita? Can you hear me? White Rabbit Nikita.
Nikita looks up to the ceiling where we see some peeling paint but she sees the
form of a rabbit.
Nikita: white rabbit?
Maddy: (explaining to Jason) We gave her a trigger to fight the drugs.
Jason: A trigger?
Maddy: Under hypnosis. An image from her childhood. Memory invigorates
the synapses. She'll co-operate now.
Jason: Nikita?
Nikita slowly gets up off the bed and stands up and looks at the window in
the door. She sees a rabbit there. We next hear a woman singing a song…
"Hush little baby don't you cry
Mama's gonna sing you a lullaby"
We are in David's room. He is lying on his bed cringing as he listens to the song.
"Hush little baby don't say a word.
Mama's gonna buy you a mocking bird."
David: No. No (we see a woman standing there presumably his mother)
Where are you?(She continues with the song. ) NO, NO, get out.
Get out. Help me (yelling this he gets up and crouches at the head of the
bed. Two orderlies come and take him out and then we see that it was
Nikita doing the singing. She looks at her hand and sees a rabbit drawn
on it but when she looks down again it is gone. David in the meantime is
being dragged by the orderlies to the ECT room. Nikita follows them.)
NOOOOO.
Doc: That's it (as he watches them strap David down onto the gurney)
Jason: Nikita have you initiated the breakdown sequence?
Nikita: Yeah. (she pushes open the door to the room and she sees what they
are doing to David)
Doc: Hold him down.
Nurse: Get back to your room now. (she shuts the door)
Doc: Steady… Hold up. (as they shock David)
Nikita is on her bed and she can hear David screaming. She looks down
on the floor and can see an image of a rabbit on the tile flooring. She smiles.
Jason: Break him down Nikita. More intel. (pan to Michael standing there)
Nikita: Jason? Michael? (she looks up thinking it is them but in actual fact it
is 2 orderlies. They leave.)
Back at Section
Jason: Nikita? Nikita? (Walter walks up to com) Nikita?
Walter: Let me take it. (he sits down) Hey Sugar. It's me. When are you coming
home? The place is downright empty without you. Sugar, you're the best.
You can handle this.
Scene 8 - Nighttime - David's room.
He sees a green vial drop onto the floor by his bed.
David: No, no. Get away.
"Mom": This can't hurt you. (as she bends down to pick it up)
David: It's deadly. It'll kill everyone. Don't touch it. Don't touch it.
You'll die.
"Mom" takes the vial and drinks from it. David is upset as he looks up
and he can see her face starting to deteriorate.
"Mom": Help me.
David: I can't. NO one can.
"Mom": I need the antidote. Where David? I need the antidote…
Where David?
David: where the bulls are. The ones that run through the street. (she leaves
the room) No. No Mommy, NO. (we then see the doctor there)
Doc: David?
David: She's dead.
Doc: Who?
David: My mother. She drank it and she died.
The orderlies come and carry him away again. Nikita is standing
against the wall watching. She really seems out of it.
Jason: Nikita, did you make an approach? (Silence)
Michael: What have you found out Nikita? Did you acquire intel?
(she is walkingnot answering) David French. The mission Nikita,
Remember the mission.
(Nikita looks up at a TV that is enclosed behind some wire.)
Nikita: I see you.
Michael: Nikita, did you acquire intel?
Nikita: the toxin's where the bulls run. Why are you on TV? (she looks at it again
and all we can see is that snowy stuff on it)
Jason: she must be hallucinating.
Nikita: Why are you on TV? (shouting) Why are you on TV?
Scene 9 - Section - Operations Perch
Michael: It's manufactured in ??? (didn't get the name)
Ops: I'll put Davenport's team in play.
Maddy: Is there something else?
Michael: Nikita. Her mission is complete.
Maddy: You think we should remove her?
Michael: There are signs of diminished capacity. She could jeopardize the mission.
Maddy: Arrange an extract.
Ops: have Davenport prepare for the mission.
Scene 10 -Mission/Hospital
Davenport's team is searching inside a dark building. We then go to the
hospital where Michael is in talking to the doctor. (Me in: he is wearing
what looks to be a light gray blazer and a matching color T-shirt. Not
too shabby looking!! Not his usual black anyway.)
Doc: Nikita is your stepsister?
Michael: yes. She has a history of cerebral incidents. When she disappeared
we knew to check local hospitals.
Back to the mission/Section…
Davenport: Lab is deserted sir. Do you detect any hostiles?
Jason: It's a sterile site.
Ops: Evidence of the Drakium A.S.?
Davenport: Yes
Back to Doctor and Michael…
Doc: I don't think she's ready for release.
Michael: We've always taken care of her. She won't do well in a strange
environment.
Back at mission… We see Davenport open what looks to be a body bag
with a very decomposed body in it!
Davenport: Two experimental subjects have been left behind.
Ops: Is the package on site?
Davenport: We haven't completed our sweep.
Back with the doctor and Michael…
Doc: We have one question. We found a pharmaceutical hidden on her.
Highly sophisticated. Something I've never seen. Why would she take
something like that?
Michael: My sister… uh… she's an addict.
Doc: This is not something an addict would take. It creates no feelings of euphoria.
Quite the opposite.
Michael: her family owns a pharmaceutical company. They make experimental
drugs. Nikita must have gotten into it and take one of them thinking it was a
barbiturate. (pause) Her drug of choice. I don't see any other explanation.
Doc: I'll have her brought in. You can take her home.
Scene 11 - Mission/Section/Hospital
Davenport: Sir the package isn't here.
Ops: Bag and retrieve the subjects. (Madeline arrives) the package has been moved.
Maddy: So we need to keep minding David French.
Ops: Yes.
Back at the hospital we see them walking Nikita to the doctor's office
where Michael is waiting for here. He turns as she walks in the door.
Nikita: So glad you are here.
Michael: (rubbing his hand down her arm) you look tired.
Doc: She's been through a lot.
Nikita: (talking quietly) I couldn't have held out much longer.
Back at Section…
Ops: Michael, abort the extraction. We need Nikita inside.
Hospital…
Nikita: Let's go Michael. Get me out of here.
Michael: Dr. Lucas feels you're not well enough to be released.
(Nikita looks shocked) Let them help you. It'll just be a few more days.
Doc: You're still hallucinating, hearing voices. She's far from recovered.
Nikita: Let's get out of here…
Michael: It's for the best Nikita.
Doc: Go with Nurse Adder Nikita.
Nikita: Michael no… (she is fighting off the orderlies as they grab her)
Michael: I promise.
(as he watches them drag her literally struggling and fighting)
She is still screaming… "Michael, don't leave me…. Don't leave me, as
they drag her away."
Scene 12 - Nikita's room
She is strapped down again to the bed. The nurse comes in with the orderlies.
Nurse: Dr. Lucas says to let you out but to watch you closely.
(They unstrap her and then leave)
Scene 13 - Hospital Bathroom
David is at the sink washing his hands again and humming.
The door opens…
"Mom": You'll never get them clean enough.
David: Mother?
"Mom": You betrayed me David.
David: Where are you mother?
"Mom": You told them about the toxin didn't you?
David: No, I didn't do anything.
"Mom": You betrayed me David.
David: No, no, no. I wouldn't tell them. (he is very agitated)
"Mom": But you did. What did you say? Tell me.
David: Please… (we now see that it is actually Nikita with him although
they switch back and forth)
Nikita: Your own mother.
David: Those people. Your poison killed them.
Nikita: You told them didn't you?
David: Yes.
"Mom": What did you tell them?
David: I didn't tell them Mother. I wrote it down on this piece of paper.
(he pulls out the paper from his pocket)
"Mom": You showed it to them.
David: I had to mother. Someone had to stop you.
"Mom": Let me see it. David. (he hands it to her just as the nurse comes in)
David: NO, NO.
Nurse: (turning to Nikita) Take her to Electroshock.
Nikita: No, no, no, no. (as they are dragging her down the hallway and
just as she is about to be strapped onto the gurney she yells out…)
Jason I have the intel.
Doc: I'm sorry, I have to do this Nikita, but acts of violence have to be dealt with.
(She keeps screaming as they ready her for the shock. They shock her and
then she sees the rabbit again in the ceiling.) Steady…
We next see her as she is sprawled out on her bed looking well out of it.
Michael: What did David tell you? (pause) Nikita? What did David French tell you?
Nikita: Who's David French? David French? (now she is drooling!)
Who is David French? Who?
Scene 14 - Section/Hospital
Ops: the window is now two hours.
Maddy: Nikita has the intel but they administered electroshock so it's affected
her short term memory.
Ops: Can you retrieve it?
Maddy: I believe so.
Ops: Then do it. We're running out of options.
(we see Nikita on the bed)
Maddy: Nikita? (pause) Nikita?
Nikita: Madeline?
Maddy: good. Now concentrate on my voice. (pause) Remember what we
talked about before you left for the mission?
Nikita: uh… self medication.
Maddy: that's right. You have to find the medical supply room. (pause)
Get up and go to the door. (Nikita slowly gets up off the bed and stands up)
Do you see the door? (Nikita opens the door and steps into the hallway)
Nikita: I'm in the hallway.
Madeline: Turn left. (Nikita looks confused) Left Nikita. The hand you
eat with Nikita. (she starts to walk) count the doors, one, two, three.
The fourth door… open it.
Nikita walks to the right door. It's locked but the nurse is sitting there.
Where she sees Nikita she gets up and opens it.
Nurse: this room is off limits to patients. Now get back to your room.
Nikita: (mumbling) I have to leave.
Maddy: Nikita are you inside?
Nurse: I said get back to your room.
Nikita: I have to do what she says.
Maddy: Nikita, cancel her.
Nikita kind of laughs…
Nurse: Do as I say. Get back to your room
Maddy: Cancel her Nikita. (which Nikita does by breaking her neck as
she twists it around)
Nikita: she's dead.
Maddy: take the key… go to the third shelf from the top… there is a vial marked
Alinol. The drawer in front of you, there are syringes. Fill the syringe… inject it into
your vein… this will take away from the effect from the drug you took. You will
remember what David French told you.
Scene 15 - Operations Loft/Mission
Maddy: It's a church in Munich. Davenport's there.
Munich - old church - we see some people arrive.
Davenport: French is on site. We believe she has the toxin. (he watches
as they go inside the church. There are three of them)
Scene 16 - Hospital/Mission
Nikita is watching as David is in an office going through some file
cabinets. He takes something out of the file and then he leaves the room.
Nikita then goes in and checks it out. She sees the file folder and it is
empty. She closes the drawer and then she looks down by the desk and
we see the doctor laying there dead on the floor.
Back at the church another car pulls up as Davenport watches. Three
men get out and head inside.
Davenport: Buyers are on site. (pause) Team two standing by.
Michael: proceed. (we watch as they check on the screen) Perimeter is
neutralized.
Ops: initiate acquisition.
Davenport and team move inside the church.
Back at the hospital…
David's room. Nikita is there.
Nikita: David? (he suddenly rushes up beside her)
David: Nikita, sorry but I'm in a bit of a hurry to leave this place. (he
goes to the cabinet beside the bed) A place like this can make you crazy.
Nikita: You faked it?
David: huh?
Nikita: You faked it. Why?
David: Well I should actually ask you the same question, but then
Section wouldn't send a lunatic to get intel on Crystal French now
would they? (he rushes her with a syringe in hand and injects it into
her)
Back at the church…
Davenport: All teams move in.
The team moves inside and then all hell breaks loose, as there is all
kinds of gunfire going on. Davenport takes out one guy and just as Mrs.
French is about to fire on him he shoots her.
Back at the hospital… David is putting Nikita onto the bed. She is quite
groggy.
Nikita: Why?
David: My mother's time has passed. Was only a matter of how to make
the change. (he kisses her) Send your superiors my thanks okay? Bye Nikita.
(he grabs his bag and leaves)
Back at the church Davenport and team retrieve the package.
Scene 17 - Section Operation's perch.
Ops: Toxin was acquired. Crystal French has been terminated.
Maddy: David French?
Ops: Unknown.
Maddy: Nikita? (no answer as they look at each other)
Tag - Hospital
We see Nikita walking around, looking dazed in what appears to be the
common room. There are people all around doing different things.
Nikita: Get me out of here. Jason what's wrong? (she starts to yell)
Michael, help me. Get me out of here. (The orderlies appear and she
runs for the doors trying to get out.) No. NO. Michael help me. NO.
(they are dragging her out and then we see that she is getting strapped
to the gurney in the EST room again.) Michael get me out of here.
Michael get me out of here please. (they put the strap in her mouth and
she looks up to see Ops in the role of the doctor)
Ops: Are you ready to tell the truth?
(ZAP)
She wakes up and she is at home. She sees what appears to be a white
rabbit sock puppet on the table. She starts to cry. Obviously she was
dreaming.
